About Norco

For almost as long as Canadians have been riding bikes, Norco has been making them. In  1964, Bert Lewis founded Northern Cycle Industries Ltd. with the dream of creating a Western Canadian- based bicycle company committed to quality product and outstanding customer service. Since then, Norco has grown from its humble beginnings as a couple of guys in a garage to over 150 employees in three offices across Canada. They now have a domestic manufacturing facility and over 25 International distributors.

From the start, Bert’s vision of Norco was to create a company committed to supporting your community by only selling our bikes through independent bicycle retailers who share our high standards of customer service. This means that each and every Norco bike is professionally assembled by trained, knowledgeable sales staff who want to keep their customers satisfied, not just the day they make a purchase, but every day they own their bike.

Bert still rides and runs to stay fit and healthy; he encourages his staff to do the same.

1995 began exporting. Norco bikes and proprietary product lines to other distributors around the world. This partnership has now grown to over 13 countries worldwide.

There aren't too many places in the world where you can freeride on world-class trails, do a 200-km road ride, take a spin on cruiser-perfect cycling paths, or get dropped by a float plane into remote areas for an All Mountain epic. Our backyard is definitely our playground and our best testing facility. The 2010 range will be marketed in Australia by Pacific Brands.

About Jamis

Building the perfect bike is an impossible goal, but it's the only one that's worthwhile. In fact,  we've been at it most of our lives. CEO and President Carine Joannou has been successfully leading and directing G. Joannou Cycle, the parent company, since taking over from her father in 1981.

What began as a modest regional distributor of imported European bicycles and parts in 1937 has grown into a national powerhouse with international distributors throughout the world. GJC is now one of the oldest, largest bicycle companies under original ownership in America . Greg Webber, Vice President of Product Development has been with Jamis since the first Earth Cruiser rolled out in 1979 and eagerly joined Carine's winning team when GJC acquired Jamis in 1990. Their commitment, passion and leadership inspires the rest of us bike addicts at Jamis to not settle for "good enough". The whole team aims for nothing short of perfection all day, every day.

Jamis is marketed in Australia by Adventure Brands.

About Felt

Back in the 80’s, a guy by the name of Jim Felt had been on the Motocross race circuit using his mechanical expertise on several top riders’ motorcycles. MX Racing was his calling, but the hectic lifestyle on the road began to take its physical toll. One day Jim woke up and realized just how out of shape he was, and he soon discovered how bicycles could improve his fitness. Before long, Jim was racing bikes and by 1991 he was hand-crafting his own high-end frames out of his garage. This was the dawn of Felt Bicycles.

Jim continued producing top-quality framesets in small volume over the next several years, always dreaming of taking his brand to the next level. As luck would have it, in 1999 the stars aligned when he teamed-up with Bill Duehring and Michael Muellmann, both bicycle industry veterans, who could help re-launched Felt as the global brand of complete bicycles known today.

Bill Duehring, former VP of GT Bicycles, was then responsible for all product development in the formative years of BMX and the mountain biking/full suspension explosion. Known for his ability to create the finest bikes in the world with the best quality components, and armed with years of experience of building solid and lasting relationships in Asia, he brought his expertise to the table as well as a small group of key employees to join the new team. Michael, his international partner and owner of Sport Import, a top worldwide distribution powerhouse for hugely successful brands like GT and RockShox; completed the triangle by launching the Felt brand into Europe’s largest market, Germany, now their international sales headquarters, handling the needs of nearly 25 countries selling Felt bikes worldwide.

Felt is marketed in Australia by Southcotts.

About GT

GT began in 1972, when Gary Turner began making bicycle frames for his son, a BMX racer. His improved frames increased in popularity and in 1974 they generated  the attention of Richard Long, a local bike shop owner in California. This year marked the most famous partnership in BMX history, when Richard Long started selling Gary’s frames in his stores.

In 1979, together they formed the company GT Bicycles Inc. Today, GT upholds its legacy as the innovator in the industry by evolving its award-winning  i-Drive technology and using it in downhill, freeride, all-mountain and cross-country  applications. Its new iT1 freeride bike exemplifies GT’s technological strength with its first of its kind internal transmission.

Earlier in 2005, Pacific Cycle and Performance Bicycle stores announced a partnership, enabling GT to bring a more concentrated emphasis on the IBD channel. Dorel Industries aquired Pacific Cycles in 2004, Iron Horse in 2009, and they are now the biggest IBD supplier in the world. Dorel now market Cannondale in Australia themselves, and will add Schwinn, Mongoose, GT, and Iron Horse in 2010. Dorel is a US$2.2 billion company with 4700 employees, facilities in eighteen countries, and sales worldwide.

GT continues to support the world of cycling by sponsoring such world-class athletes  as Olympic Cross Country phenomenon Todd Wells and Mountain X World Champion Brian Lopes, Trials guru Hans Rey, among others.

About SE

There's no doubt about it. SE has been one of the radest BMX brands for over thirty years. In 1973, Scot Breithaupt was the first person to organize and promote BMX races. Not long afterwards, he created the company called SE Racing. Over the years SE became a household name in the BMX world and went on to sponsor some of the biggest names in the sport. SE Bikes is renowned for the quality and innovation of their bikes and the brand has a cult following. To this day, there are more SE riders in the BMX hall of fame than any other company.

From roots at the very start of BMX bikes like the Quadangle, the PK Ripper and OM Flyer have been fully updated to meet the demands of modern riders. With massive interest in Retro BMX models, SE have lead the way with re-issues of some of the sports most iconic bikes. The SE range of bikes today has also evolved beyond pure BMX race and dirt/park bikes. SE mountain bikes bring the long heritage of BMX to the mountain bike scene for racing, trail riding and jumping. SE also brings hardcore downtown and BMX style to the ever growing urban single speed and fixie market. SE Bikes and DC Shoes also release periodic limited edition models with a totally new look and feel and stunning good looks.
